Whitney is a 2004 BC graduate and she excelled on the softball diamond.  Her career record at BC as a pitcher was 91-16.  She had 1103 strikeouts in her career.  Opponents batted a mere .118 against her over her career, and her career ERA was 0.42.  In her 107 starts, she threw 59 shutouts and once threw 80 consecutive scoreless innings.  At the plate, her career batting average was .333.  At the time of her graduation, Whitney was the only BCHS alumni to be named to an All Ohio team all 4 years of her career.  She still is listed in multiple categories in the OHSAA softball record books.



After graduation, Whitney continued her softball career at the College of the Cumberlands.  She was selected once as honorable mention All Conference, and was a 1st team all conference selection the other 3 years.  In 2008 she was selected as Pitcher of the Year in the Mid South Conference.  She holds records at the college for ERA in a season with an ERA of 1.58 in 2005-06, and for shutouts in a season with 4 that same year.
